Short answer: you can no longer choose between Demandbase and Oracle BlueKai, because BlueKai no longer exists. Oracle exited the advertising business and shut BlueKai down on September 30, 2024. Demandbase is a live, B2B account-based marketing platform. The real 2026 question is what replaces the BlueKai job in your stack: a B2B ABM suite like Demandbase, a customer data platform, or a first-party revenue platform like Abmatic AI.
This page covers what BlueKai actually did, why it disappeared, how Demandbase differs in kind (not just in features), and how to rebuild the audience and targeting layer BlueKai used to provide. If you are mid-migration and want to see a first-party replacement running on your own traffic, book a demo of Abmatic AI.
What Happened to Oracle BlueKai
BlueKai was a data management platform (DMP). Oracle bought it in February 2014 for a reported price of about $400 million and folded it into Oracle Data Cloud alongside Datalogix, Moat, and Grapeshot. BlueKai collected cookie-based browsing and behavioral data, packaged it into audience segments, and pushed those segments to ad networks and DSPs. It also ran a large third-party data marketplace where advertisers could rent audiences.
On Oracle's fiscal Q4 2024 earnings call in June 2024, CEO Safra Catz said the company had decided to exit the advertising business, which had declined to about $300 million in revenue for the fiscal year. Forrester noted that the same unit had generated about $2 billion two years earlier. Oracle ended support for its advertising products, BlueKai included, on September 30, 2024.
Three pressures killed it:
- Cookie dependence. A DMP builds audiences from third-party cookies. Safari and Firefox had already blocked them, and the long, public uncertainty over Chrome made cookie-built segments a shrinking asset.
- Privacy regulation. GDPR and US state privacy laws raised the consent bar for exactly the kind of cross-site data brokering a DMP marketplace runs on. In June 2020 a security researcher also found an unsecured BlueKai database exposing billions of records, which did not help trust.
- Walled gardens. Google, Meta, Amazon and LinkedIn increasingly kept their audience data inside their own ad platforms, which left independent DMPs squeezed in the middle.
One nuance worth getting right: Google announced in April 2025 that Chrome would keep third-party cookies available by default rather than deprecate them. That does not bring BlueKai back, and it does not make cookie-built audiences reliable again. Safari and Firefox still block them, consent rules still apply, and match rates on rented third-party segments stayed poor. The industry moved on regardless.
Demandbase vs Oracle BlueKai: Different Categories Entirely
Searchers comparing these two usually ran BlueKai for B2B audience targeting and are now evaluating Demandbase as the replacement. That is a reasonable move, but understand what changes. BlueKai worked on people and cookies. Demandbase works on accounts.

Demandbase's Agentbase launch on March 4, 2025 introduced a Campaign Outcomes Agent that optimizes bidding inside Demandbase's B2B DSP and an Account Engagement Agent that summarizes account activity for sellers. Those are real agent products and should be weighed as such. What BlueKai Users Actually Need to Replace
Before picking a vendor, list the jobs BlueKai did for you. Most B2B teams used it for some mix of four things:
1. Audience building for paid media
BlueKai segments fed display and programmatic campaigns. The B2B replacement is an account list, built from firmographic, technographic and intent filters, pushed directly to the ad platforms. Account lists match far better on LinkedIn and through a B2B-aware DSP than rented cookie segments ever did.
2. Third-party data enrichment
The marketplace let you rent behavioral and demographic attributes. In B2B, the honest replacement is a combination of first-party intent (what accounts actually do on your properties) and a curated third-party intent feed such as Bombora. Our Demandbase vs Bombora guide covers how those intent sources differ.
3. Cross-channel identity
BlueKai stitched cookies across sites. That model is broken. The durable replacement is an identity graph keyed on accounts and known people, built from your own site, your CRM and your ad platforms, with consent handled at collection.
4. Site personalization inputs
Some teams used DMP segments to change what visitors saw. In B2B, it is more effective to personalize on the identified account, its stage in your pipeline and its intent level. That is a web personalization job, not a DMP job.
If you map those four jobs honestly, most B2B teams find they do not need another DMP at all. They need account intelligence, intent, activation and personalization on one data model. Our explainer on third-party cookie replacements walks through the identity side in more detail.
Option A: Move to Demandbase
Demandbase is a reasonable landing spot for enterprise teams that want an established ABM suite. It brings account identification, intent, its own B2B DSP, and the Agentbase agents. It fits best when you have a dedicated ABM operations owner, a long enterprise sales cycle, and the budget and time for a structured implementation.
Gotchas to plan for:
- Pricing is not published. Demandbase quotes through its sales team, typically based on modules, account volume and data needs. Get every module you need on the quote before you sign.
- Sales execution lives elsewhere. Outbound sequences and inbound chat usually come from separate tools that integrate with Demandbase, which means more contracts and more places for identity to drift.
- Implementation time. Legacy ABM suites have historically run multi-quarter implementations according to public customer disclosures. Budget for it.

Option B: Move to a CDP
Forrester's read on Oracle's exit was that other large marketing clouds had already moved from DMPs to customer data platforms. If BlueKai was mainly a B2C audience tool for you, a CDP is the natural successor. For B2B pipeline work, though, a CDP alone does not identify anonymous accounts, score buying intent or run the activation. You would still need an ABM layer on top.
Skip the manual work
Abmatic AI runs targets, sequences, ads, meetings, and attribution autonomously. One platform replaces 9 tools.
See the demo →Option C: Move to a First-Party Revenue Platform
This is where Abmatic AI fits. Instead of rebuilding a DMP-style audience layer and bolting activation tools onto it, Abmatic AI captures first-party signal on your own properties, identifies the accounts and people behind it, and acts on that signal across web, ads, email and sales, all on one identity graph. See it live on your own traffic.
Why Abmatic AI Is the Strongest BlueKai Replacement for B2B
Abmatic AI is the most comprehensive AI-native revenue platform on the market. It collapses the 8 to 12 point tools that mid-market and enterprise B2B teams usually buy separately into one platform with a shared identity graph and a shared signal layer. Where ABM suites cover 3 to 5 of these jobs, Abmatic AI runs 15+ modules first-party:
- Account-level deanonymization identifies the companies behind anonymous site traffic, the B2B job a DMP never did well.
- Contact-level deanonymization identifies the individual people on your site, natively, with no supplemental vendor.
- First-party intent and third-party intent are captured across web, LinkedIn, paid ads and email, then layered with integrated feeds like Bombora and G2.
- Account list and contact list building from firmographic, technographic and intent filters on a first-party database, export-ready and sync-ready.
- Native advertising: Google DSP, Google Search, LinkedIn Ads, Meta Ads and retargeting, all driven by the same account list, replacing the segment-push job BlueKai did.
- Web personalization and A/B testing, plus banners and on-site CTAs gated by account stage or intent.
- Agentic Workflows: if an account crosses an intent threshold, enroll it in a sequence, show a personalized banner and alert the AE, automatically.
- Agentic Outbound and outbound sequences across email, LinkedIn and ad retargeting with signal-adaptive cadence.
- Agentic Chat and AI SDR that know who the visitor is, qualify the meeting, route it to the right AE and book it.
- Technology scraper that detects a prospect's tech stack for targeting and personalization.
- Built-in analytics for pipeline, attribution and account journeys, with no separate BI tool.
Both Demandbase and Abmatic AI ship AI agents. The difference is architecture: Abmatic AI's agents act on 15+ first-party modules sharing one identity graph, while a suite's agents typically sit on top of separately licensed modules and an integrated sales engagement and chat stack.
Abmatic AI is built for mid-market and enterprise B2B, scales from 50 to 50,000+ target accounts across 1:1, 1:few and 1:many programs, and starts at $36,000 per year with enterprise tiers available. Time to value is days, not months: the pixel goes on your site and first-party signal capture is live the same day.
Integrations that replace the DMP plumbing
- Salesforce bi-directional sync across accounts, contacts, opportunities, custom objects and campaigns
- HubSpot full bi-directional sync across companies, contacts, deals, lists, workflows and campaigns
- Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads and Meta Ads native integrations
- Marketo, HubSpot and Pardot marketing automation
- Snowflake, BigQuery and Redshift warehouse exports
- Slack alerts and AE routing, Gmail and Outlook for sends and booking
A 30-Day Migration Path Off a DMP Mindset
- Week 1: inventory. List every segment BlueKai used to feed, which campaigns consumed it, and what pipeline those campaigns produced. Many will turn out to have been low value.
- Week 1: install first-party capture. Put the pixel on your site and connect your CRM so identified accounts and contacts start accumulating immediately.
- Week 2: rebuild audiences as account lists. Translate each useful segment into firmographic, technographic and intent filters. Push the lists to LinkedIn, Google and Meta.
- Week 3: wire activation. Turn on web personalization for top tiers and set Agentic Workflows that react when intent spikes.
- Week 4: measure. Compare engagement and pipeline from account-list campaigns against the historical DMP-segment baseline.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Oracle BlueKai still available?
No. Oracle announced in June 2024 that it was exiting the advertising business, and support for its advertising products, including the BlueKai data management platform, ended on September 30, 2024. There is no supported way to buy or run BlueKai today.
Is Demandbase a replacement for BlueKai?
Partly. Demandbase is a B2B account-based marketing suite, not a DMP. It replaces the B2B targeting job with account identification, intent and its own B2B DSP, but it does not replicate BlueKai's cookie audiences or third-party data marketplace, and most teams no longer want those anyway.
Why did Oracle shut down BlueKai?
Oracle said its advertising business had declined to about $300 million in revenue in fiscal 2024. Analysts attributed the decline to browser restrictions on third-party cookies, tighter privacy regulation and walled-garden ad platforms keeping their data in house.
Did Google keeping third-party cookies in Chrome change anything?
Not for BlueKai users. Google said in April 2025 that Chrome would keep third-party cookies available by default, but Safari and Firefox still block them and consent rules still apply. B2B teams have largely moved to account-level and first-party signal instead.
How much does Demandbase cost compared to Abmatic AI?
Demandbase does not publish pricing and quotes through its sales team based on modules and account volume. Abmatic AI starts at $36,000 per year, with enterprise tiers available, and includes 15+ modules on one identity graph.
What is the fastest BlueKai replacement for a B2B team?
A first-party platform that identifies accounts and people on your own site and activates them directly. Abmatic AI goes live the same day the pixel is installed, then builds account lists for ads, personalization and outbound from that signal.
