Notice what's not on this list: MQLs, form fills, content downloads. Step 1: Define the target list once, freeze it. Your ABM target list at the start of a measurement window is the cohort. If you add accounts mid-window, they don't count for that window's measurement — they enter the next one. Most teams cheat here by retroactively pulling closed-won accounts into the "ABM-influenced" bucket. Don't.

Step 2: Build a control cohort. Pick accounts that match the target list on firmographics (industry, employee band, revenue band, geography) but were not part of any ABM motion.   • Months 1–3: Leading indicators only. Coverage building, engagement depth ramping, handoff rate stabilizing. No defensible pipeline number yet.
