Step 1: Pick 8 to 12 fit attributes

You want attributes that are observable, stable, and correlated with closed-won. Observable means the data exists in your CRM or via enrichment without manual research. Step 2: Assign explicit weights summing to 100

Sit with sales leadership. For each attribute, the weight is how many points (out of 100) a perfect match contributes to the score. A typical spread:

Mistake 2: Too many attributes

More than 15 attributes makes the model brittle. Each attribute adds noise; only the top correlates pay for the noise they introduce. Stay at 8 to 12 unless you have strong evidence a 13th attribute is materially predictive.
